Two programs. One school. One community.
Every child at Adapt Prep belongs to the same school — the same environment, the same enrichment, the same community built from the ground up for neurodivergent learners. What changes is the level of support and the shape of the day. Both paths are led by clinically trained staff, grounded in behavioral science, and designed around your child — not the other way around.
Foundations Program
For students who need behavioral support at the center of their day
"My child needs more than academics right now."
The Foundations Program is designed for students who benefit from intensive behavioral support woven throughout their day. Learning here starts with building the skills that make learning possible — communication, regulation, flexibility, and connection.
Academic instruction is delivered by a Washington state certified teacher in small group or 1:1 settings, modified to meet each student's access needs. For students receiving ABA services, Beehave Academy provides on-site RBT support billed separately through insurance. Our admissions team will help your family understand what's available and how it works.
This may be your child if they are:
Autistic with higher support needs Experiencing behaviors that interfere with learning Working on communication, adaptive, or daily living skills Thriving with 1:1 or very small group support Benefiting from a shorter, more structured school day
Discovery Program
For twice-exceptional students ready to go deep
"My child is so capable — but school hasn't figured that out yet."
The Discovery Program is built for students whose minds work in complex, non-linear ways. Intellectually curious, often gifted in some areas and struggling in others — these students don't need less, they need different. The Discovery Program gives them a place to be challenged, supported, and finally understood.
Academic instruction is delivered in a small group setting by a Washington state certified teacher, designed to stretch complex thinkers. Social-emotional learning is led by a BCBA and focuses on complex social ideas, perspective-taking, and emotional regulation.
This may be your child if they are:
Twice-exceptional — gifted in some areas, struggling in others Diagnosed with ADHD, autism (lower support needs), or dyslexia Anxious, sensitive, or exhausted from masking all day Intellectually curious but disengaged in traditional settings Ready for a reimagined education
What every student shares
Every Adapt Prep student — regardless of path — comes together for the best part of the day.
We bring in local experts and community mentors to lead enrichment experiences across art, music, coding, chess, and more. These aren't afterthoughts. They're carefully chosen specialists who know their craft and know how to connect with kids who learn differently.
Our enrichment calendar is built around our students. We start with a core set of offerings and grow from there based on what our kids are passionate about. If a group is obsessed with Legos, we find a Lego mentor. If Minecraft becomes the thing, we build around it. Student interest drives what we offer — not the other way around.
Planned enrichment areas include:
Art Music & instrumental Chess Coding Legos Minecraft Community integration
Our enrichment program grows with our students — more to come as we learn what our community loves.
How path placement works
There's no checklist or formula. Path placement at Adapt Prep is a team decision — thoughtful, collaborative, and always centered on your child.
We take the time to truly understand your child before making any recommendations. Here's how the process works:
A family conversation
We start by listening. Your history, your child's story, what's worked and what hasn't.
Review of records
We look at previous assessments, IEPs, school history, and diagnoses — the full picture.
Direct observation
Our BCBA team observes your child directly to understand their learning style and support needs.
A team recommendation
We bring it all together and share our thinking with you — collaboratively, not top-down. Your input is part of the decision.
Not sure which program fits your child? That's exactly what the admissions conversation is for.
Programs are not permanent placements.
As students grow, their needs evolve — and so does their path. Students can move between Foundations and Discovery over time, guided by ongoing progress data, family input, and team observation. The goal is always to find the level of support that helps your child thrive — not to keep them in a box.
